LIFE
Finally finished the video. The clock striked 5am. Haha I think I'm crazy. The video is done but not perfect. I think there's still some bugs and minor errors around, due to my blurry eyes conditions. Any feedback is welcome
It's incredibly hard to squeeze 21 years of my life into 4 minutes of music, so if your face don't appear in the video, my deepest apology...
I hope you'll like it, my first time with vector Arts. The song is in Japanese
The file is a bit big (4MB) so it may take some time to load. Please be patient.

Life is like a boat
In order to promote my official website's intro coming up tomorrow, I thought I post here the old intro. This was done more than a year ago during Valentines Day and then was later used for my old official website. It was still raw, not so pretty type of Flash. I hope this will be a good comparision for you to mine this time, which is, again, coming tomorrow.
So look out!
And here, please enjoy "Life is like a boat" from Rie Fu. (It's a large file, so it may take some time to load. Patient please!)
URL: http://www.comp.nus.edu.sg/~hotrongt/Life%20is%20like%20a%20boat.swf
(To prevent clash with current FLASH) I'll add a mute and pause button to all two later)

My company's website
Sorry for my long absence. It's not that I stopped designing. I never stop designing. It's just I'm working on a BIG project now (my own website). I've been working nonstop everynight after my official fulltime day work. Finished like about 30% of just the intro. I think will take a month or so for it to be published.
This Sunday, if there's no thunderstorm (I'm still keeping my finger crossed), Joe's gonna take me to New York City on his air plane. I will take a lot of arerial photography from the plane. So stay tune and pray hard that's there's no thunderstorm this Sunday.
For now, let enjoy a few designs that I've drafted for my company's new website. I hope my boss will like it and let one of it to be our official new look.
I'm dead broke now so if u have any design job, contact me yah :)

My NOISE Design entry
These are my 2 entries for the CD Cover Design. The CD is named "Sex in the City" with a collection of sensational songs (for couple to have sex with, I guess). I hope you like it. Sorta playful a little bit with these designs.
Cover 1: Secrets.
Look behind closed doors and beyond closed minds. Sex doesn't always mean lust and sin, it means intimacy and love sometimes. An eye watching over an embraced couple through a keyhole. It's sex in the city, it's the mixture between privacy and intimacy (the keyhole); secrets and curiosity (the watching eye) and pure sensational sex.
Cover 2: Come play with me
A playful cover with parts of the body, half revealing, half covered, a little inviting, a little mysterious. The lipstick traces written over the body is an invitation, a blod moves to the world of intimacy and sensations of sex. The belly button is replaced by the CD hole. Normally people will just avoid this whole and let it there. I want it to be a part of the design on purpose, like another game that u can play. (Think about when you have to take the CD out, you are putting ur finger through his belly) :) Enjoy

Tears of the Sun
This is my latest socalled Arts Work: "Tears of the Sun"
The painting is the split and dual between black and white. I tried my best to make it symmetric and look the same on both sides. The face is the Sun and the round thing below is the Earth. Black and white, right and wrong, light and darkness, it's life on earth, always complementing and oppositing each other. The sun rays are replaced by the the blood tears that are pouring down on earth, running through the surface and absorbing in. It's simple, two shades black and white and a color of blood, but I think it's has a very strong and disturbing impact.
July sure is the worst month of the year this year. Apart from my many personal accidents and agony (which I won't bore you with), the world also witnesses the War in the Middle east, tsunami, storms, hurricane, heat wave, and many other tragedies tearing off countries and lives.
It was among one of the cray things I did (Not the craiestm but still crazy). After work I packed my painting kit, went strait to school (Upenn), sat down on the grass, under a shadow of a tree and finished it in 3 hours.
The Sun's face loosely resembles Versace's logo because I sort of inspired by my own cheap fake Versace wallet. However, the idea of tears of the sun falling down to earth and the blood tear is mine, though.
Hope you like it and don't feel too depressed.

It's always sunny in Philadelphia
I'm sorry for my long long absence. Lately I didn't go out, partially because I'm a lazy ass and partially because I have no $. No going out means nothing to take photos of. Today, in order to fulfill a request from one of my "favourite girls", I post this post. She wanted to see Philly again through my eyes. So there you are, the corners of Philly during a beautiful sunset of July where it's stinking hot and I'm on a flip flop walking more than 40 streets...
"Summer house"
The bush outside of our house with its stunning summer green color
"SEPTA"
Our train system here which is famous for fucked up, delays and sudden change of routes :) The image is a little blur cos the train moves fast and the lighting was pretty dim.
"Bus stop"
A bus stop near Penn with an Ads on it. Just find it inspiring.
"Feather of a Phoenix"
A phoenix just drops a firy feather on the grass of summer. Will fall come soon? I just love the color of the red leaves. SHot in sunset mode for the warm filter and orange cast layer.
"Yellow"
A very vivid and lively bush of yellow daisy. Shot in sunset mode with low depth of field to blur out the crowded background of flowers. Didn't need to alter in Photoshop
"City of Brotherly Love"
A romantic candid shot of a guy and a girl fixing there bicycle in front of the back drop of the famous Philly twin towers. Philly is called the City of Brotherly love for a reason. is this the one?
"Blade"
A glass building near 30th street station. It's sharpness and translucency make it almost look like a blade piercing the sky.
"Traffic"
A junction at 30th street. It's always crowded here at this hour.
"Abandoned"
A piece of trash taken through the wooden frame of a fence. It just conveyed a feeling of a very messy, abandoned and neglected side of Philly
"Pride"
The proud eagle of Philly standing straight staring at the deep blue sky.
"Sunset blossoms"
At the best hour of the sunset, the flowers with its vivid deep yellow shades attracted me. The contrast against green and red just made it irresistable to capture...
"Fountain"
A cool fountain in a luxury corner of Philly where executives sit down and have their cup of coffee. Shot in slow shuttle mode with 2 second shuttle open to achieve the silky effect in the water. Shoot in fast shutter and u can see every single drop of water. I prefer this one, it looks more magical and dreamy :)
"To the sky!"
Shot the tower again at close distant from bottom up. I framed it by the 2 buildings to create a creative effect of it.
"Buildings"
Buildings so tall that they extend to the sky and stop the sunray casting down to the earth. I took this while I was crossing the street. I just stop in the middle of it, point up and shoot :p.
"Welcoming"
Benjamin looks toward the immegrants of US. Inspiring
"Fountain"
The water cooling the burning sunset of Philly down.
"Angel"
The angel in the fountain during a wonderful after sunset shilohuete. It was taken at 4" shuttle speed for the silky water.
"Sunset burning the streets of Park Towne"
Nice sunset. Full stop.
"Untitled"
Don't know how to title this one. Just nice.
There you go, the corners of Philly. Many people say Philly is just boring and black and dirty and high crime rate. It's not true. Every city has it good and bad side. This is just a very beautiful side of Philly, very magnificent and very different. And it is just 30-40 blocks of houses, not the entire city yet.
Hope you have enjoyed this post. More coming soon!!!
